Biosensia is a point of care in vitro diagnostics company that has a novel point of care platform, RapiPlex, available for licensing.
RapiPlex combines highly innovative technologies to produce a practical, rapid, multiplexing point of care (POC) invitro diagnostics (IVD) platform, enabling access to a broad range of diagnostic applications.
Its component chip and cartridge system are compatible with a variety of common biological sample types, including whole blood, serum, saliva, urine and nasal/genital swabs.
The patented RapiPlex platform integrates three technologies:
- A multi-channel fluidic chip
- Robust, well established fluorescence immunoassay systems
- An integrated fluorescence optical reader, providing a numerical, easy to interpret read-out of results
Prototypes of each component are either already developed or under development. Proof of principle has been achieved using demonstration assays for drugs of abuse in saliva and C-reactive protein and Myoglobin in serum/whole blood.
RapiPlex is suitable for use in all immunoassay formats and for multiple POC analytical applications in markets including infectious disease, drugs of abuse testing, cardiac markers through food and environment to clinical, medical and security.
