Biosensia recognized as InterTradeIreland “Business Ambassadors” at event hosted by Minister Richard Bruton TD

Biosensia Ltd. was recognized as an InterTradeIreland Business Ambassadors for the Dublin at a special event held with Minister Richard Bruton TD, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation on Wednesday 1st June in Dublin. Over 80 Ministers, TDs and Senators were also in attendance at the event which recognized SMEs that have excelled through North-South trade and innovation.

Speaking at the event, Diarmuid Flavin, CEO of Biosensia said: “Biosensia first worked with InterTradeIreland’s INNOVA programme in the development of our RapiPlex reader instrument. Intertrade Ireland provided both funding and project support to allow Biosensia accelerate our RapiPlex core product development.” Diarmuid went on to say “I encourage all Irish indigenous SME’s to think globally and act globally to achieve their goals and to seek the assistance of Intertrade Ireland in supporting those goals”

Mr. Richard Bruton TD, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation commented, “Government does not create jobs, people and businesses do; and the role of government is to create an environment in which those businesses can prosper. I am determined to do everything I can to reduce costs, improve access to finance and encourage innovation so that good businesses can expand and create the jobs that our economy and society so badly need. If there is one thing Ireland - north and south - does not lack it is enterprising, creative, hardworking people, and I look forward to working with them to discuss what government and small business together can do to get people back to work”.

Over 65 companies from across Ireland attended the event with government representatives, including Ministers of State, TDs and Senators. Local Dublin representatives in attendance on the day included Joe Costello TD, Paschal Donohoe TD, Maureen O’Sullivan TD, Brendan Ryan TD, Terence Flanagan TD, Peter Matthews TD, Olivia Mitchell TD and Senators Catherine Noone and Mary White.

The group of InterTradeIreland Business Ambassadors were also invited to meet President Mary McAleese at an exclusive reception at Áras an Uachtaráin to make their achievements, where she described the companies as ‘Champions of the future and leaders of change.’

This full-day conference, organised by Health Enterprise East, will be held on March 16th at the Radisson Blu Hotel, London Stansted Airport.

Through a juried process led by HEE staff, only four companies in total have been chosen to make a presentation at the Opening Doors conference. Biosensia has been selected to present to conference attendees its lead product – a highly innovative, practical and cost-effective point of care platform ‘RapiPlex’.

The Opening Doors to the NHS conference is designed to showcase technologies that are poised to make a dramatic impact on the work of the NHS. This showcase is an ideal way for companies like Biosensia to present products and innovations directly to top healthcare executives in the NHS and to work with the NHS in making the delivery of healthcare more efficient.

Biosensia at the AACC 2010 in Anaheim

Biosensia’s COO Diarmuid Flavin to present ‘RapiPlex’ point of care platform at the AACC 2010 Annual Meeting and Clinical Lab Expo in Anaheim.

Biosensia will be presenting and exhibiting at the AACC 2010 (American Association of Clinical Chemistry) Conference at the Anaheim Convention Center, in Anaheim, CA, July 27-29th 2010. The AACC 2010 is the largest clinical laboratory exposition in the world.

Industry Workshop

In addition to exhibiting at the AACC 2010 Biosensia will be presenting at an Industry Workshop in association with Diagnostic Consulting Network and Symbient Product Development on July 28th, 2010 at 7am in the Anaheim Marriott Hotel. This workshop, which is open to all, will focus on the latest technologies for quantitative rapid tests used in diagnostics and will showcase Biosenisa’s highly innovative, practical and cost-effective point of care platform ‘RapiPlex’.
